NWCUA Fall Councils Kick off This Week — Register Now!


The Northwest Credit Union Association’s fall Councils kick off this week, providing a space to gather with Northwest peers, brainstorm approaches to challenges, and discuss the future of the Credit Union Movement.

The council meetings, to be hosted via Zoom, will be jam-packed with up-to-date industry insight, including current and upcoming issues across various fields, from lending and collections to HR and risk management.

Here’s what’s on the docket:

Collectors Council – Session Two
Thursday, Oct. 22, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. PDT (11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. MDT)
Come together with your fellow collectors to discuss collection strategies and issues regarding the CARES Act, FHFA payment deferrals, the Oregon moratorium on foreclosures, skip payments, and more. The experts at Farleigh Wada Witt will be on hand to share insight and answer questions.

Commercial Services Council – Session Two
Tuesday, Oct. 27, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. PDT (11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. MDT)
Join your Northwest colleagues to debrief on an industry-changing year, discuss what’s on the horizon for commercial services, and strategize next steps. Dive into PPP forgiveness, commercial lending exam trends, audit focuses for 2021, and much more.

HR & Trainers Council – Session Two
Wednesday, Oct. 28, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. PDT (11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. MDT)
Hear from the digital and marketing team at Harborstone Credit Union, as they share their Deliberately Digital 12-Week Immersion program, where staff watch, learn, do, reflect, and connect digital experiences to client value. Join CUNA Mutual Group for a discussion on complex HR risks circulating today’s workplace.

Risk Management Council — Session Two
Thursday, Oct. 29, 10 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. PDT (11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. MDT) 
Gather virtually with peers in risk-related roles to discuss trends, share best practices, and discover solutions to shared challenges. Learn strategies for identifying and reducing the many areas of risk that credit unions face daily.

Compliance Council — Session Three
Thursday, Nov. 19, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. PST (11 a.m. – 3 p.m. MST)
Meet with your compliance counterparts from other credit unions to dive into upcoming regulatory changes and devise strategies to implement them. Discuss the challenges inherent in keeping credit unions compliant with regulations.

Marketing, Business Development & Community Outreach Council — Session Three
Tuesday, Dec. 1, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. PST (11 a.m. – 3 p.m. MST)
Gather with marketing, communications, business development, and community outreach professionals to share your challenges and successes in promoting  credit union awareness, products, and services. View beneficial presentations and engage in roundtable discussions that further the Credit Union Movement.
