Clackamas Federal Credit Union Turns to Eltropy to Share Important Alerts Amid Wildfires
October 12, 2020
As devastating wildfires ripped through the Northwest last month, several credit unions in Washington and Oregon were caught in the crosshairs, and many were forced to close their branches with little notice.
Clackamas Federal Credit Union, based in Milwaukie, Oregon, was one of them. The credit union used Eltropy’s text-messaging solution to keep its employees informed of rapid changes and to communicate important alerts to members.
“Eltropy has been massively helpful to Clackamas Federal Credit Union this week as we’re dealing with widespread wildfires, closed branches, and evacuated employees all across the area,” Clackamas President and CEO, Aaron Goff said last month. “Not only has the system been flawless, but we have had outstanding support. I’m very glad we chose Eltropy.”
The Strategic Link partner’s texting solution is specifically designed for credit unions to communicate with both members and employees via text-messaging while remaining secure and compliant. Amid recent disasters, civil unrest, and the ongoing pandemic, remote communication solutions have proven essential for credit unions to remain digitally engaged with members.
In fact, Central Willamette Credit Union, based in Albany, Oregon, signed on with Eltropy in March for that very reason.
“Once the COVID-19 pandemic started gripping the world, we knew we must expedite our plans for enabling text messaging for our members here in the Willamette Valley,” said Central Willamette’s President and CEO, Stacie Wyss-Schoenborn. “Eltropy was an obvious partner due to its focus on service, innovation, commitment to security, and strong industry record. Since signing with Eltropy, CWCU has experienced top-notch treatment. The level of service and communication with the Eltropy team has been beyond what we could have hoped for.”
Using Eltropy’s technology within the credit unions’ core systems enables lending, collections, sales, marketing, and other teams to leverage text messaging to increase member engagement and receive relevant member insights.
The Strategic Link partner, called “the best text messaging-based platform for credit unions” by CUNA Strategic Services, has already signed with more than 18 credit unions in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington — and counting.
“Our team has demonstrated its commitment to helping credit unions serve members during the roughest of circumstances,” said Ashish Garg, CEO and co-founder of Eltropy. “We remain committed to credit unions during and beyond the pandemic as well as amid devastation from natural disasters. Credit unions are in the business of putting members first — Eltropy is in the business of putting credit unions first.”
