The Boise Rescue Mission has chosen to provide the vehicle to a recent graduate of their New Life Recovery Program.
Icon Credit Union, a division of Horizon Credit Union, is pleased to announce that they will be donating a 2004 Mercury Mountaineer from their fleet to the Boise Rescue Mission.
A ceremony will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 2, at 2 p.m. at the Icon Credit Union Chinden Branch. The public and media are welcome to attend.
The Boise Rescue Mission has chosen to provide the vehicle to a recent graduate of their New Life Recovery Program. This individual completed the two-year program and has launched a new life of sobriety and hope. Jason Billester from the Boise Rescue Mission will speak at the ceremony and provide more information on this and other programs offered.
Connie Miller, Regional President, and Ken Corder, Business Development Manager at Icon together facilitated the donation of the vehicle. “During such a time of challenges for our community and citizens, it’s nice to stay focused on continuing to help others. We’re delighted to be helping one of our community partners by donating this vehicle from our fleet. At our core, we know giving back to the causes we believe in will make a difference. We have a long record of supporting our community. We love helping organizations that share our values and the credit union philosophy of people helping people,” says Ms. Miller.
Representatives from Christian Brothers Automotive Meridian and Wrap World Ink will also attend the ceremony. Christian Brothers repaired and performed all needed maintenance to the Mountaineer at no charge; Wrap World Ink donated their time and removed the marketing wrap from the vehicle at a fraction of the actual cost.
A few other local businesses and community partners will be donating gas cards, oil changes, and other necessities to go along with the gifting of the vehicle.
