NWCUF’s Scholarship Program Empowers Credit Union Employees to Grow Through Professional Development

Since its inception, the Northwest Credit Union Foundation has been a consistent resource for credit union employees, ensuring they have access to the training they need to successfully serve their credit unions and communities.
At a time when credit unions may be tightening their training budget belts, a scholarship from NWCUF can be a valuable resource.
“The Foundation is here to support Northwest credit unions — especially small credit unions — that want to continue offering professional development opportunities for staff. When credit union professionals grow, so does the Credit Union Movement,” said NWCUF Executive Director, Sharee Adkins.
The NWCUF scholarship program can be utilized for a variety of trainings and events, including opportunities for those interested in attending CU Learning TRAXX — a future-focused, digital learning program that features seven learning tracks running throughout the remainder of 2020. Day two of CU Learning TRAXX kicks off Aug. 26, but content from the first day — held Aug. 5. — is available for on-demand viewing.
“Since 2019, over 150 scholarships have been awarded to enabling credit union employees to develop critical skills and advance their careers by engaging in professional development opportunities put on by the Northwest Credit Union Association, CUNA, Wespay, Lending Solutions and many other organizations that provide career development opportunities for credit union professionals. We encourage professionals to take advantage of these funds to attend CU Learning TRAXX,” said Adkins.
The NWCUF Scholarship program is a reimbursement-based award. An individual employee can apply for an award up to $1,000, however, there are opportunities for CEOs to apply for awards over $1,000 for certain events. Please reach out to Maija Noll for any questions or find more details online.
