Calling all Advocates to August Hike at Home
Virtual event opens the doors for more credit union advocates to meet with members of Congress.
The Northwest Credit Union Movement’s dedicated advocates often make three annual trips to Congress: for the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference in the spring, which is attended by 200-plus credit union enthusiasts, and for two smaller Hike the Hill events in the summer and fall.
This year the doors are open to all CEOs and advocates. While the COVID-19 pandemic prevents travel, Congress is willing to see Northwest advocates in virtual meetings and we’re ready for a huge grassroots showing. August Hike at Home, to run from Aug.17 to Aug. 20, presents opportunities for your team to receive training and then meet with your members of Congress.
You don’t need a plane ticket, a suitcase, a hotel, or hours away from the credit union. Short sessions are being scheduled.
Check out what Samantha Beeler, NWCUA’s Vice President, Advocacy, has to say about this new advocacy opportunity!
Credit unions certainly have a lot to share with Congress this year as they’ve raised their hands again and again to help their members cope with the economic impact of COVID-19. Zoom with NWCUA for August Hike at Home.
