East Idaho Credit Union Leads in Top Places to Work in Idaho
Three other Northwest credit unions also place in the top 10 this year.
Year after year, credit unions continue to be some of the best places to work in Idaho.
East Idaho Credit Union is a great example of that, and others agree. Recently, the credit union took second on the 2020 Best Places to Work in Idaho list in the “large employers” category.
This marks the sixth straight year the Idaho Falls-based credit union has been recognized as a top employer. It placed first in 2019 and 2018, fourth in 2017, and took home honorable mentions in 2016 and 2015.
“We are so happy to be recognized statewide as one of the best places to work,” said Dan Thurman, East Idaho Credit Union’s president and CEO. “It’s amazing to see the culture we’ve built and the welcoming environment we’ve developed for our employees.”
More than just table tennis, dart boards, and free coffee for employees, East Idaho Credit Union has built a winning culture for their 121 employees that translates to outstanding service for their 33,000 members.
“We have Nerf wars, too,” jokes Thurman. “In all seriousness, we focus a lot on employee engagement and doing the right thing for them and our members. We are truly honored to be recognized again this year.”
Boise-based Icon Credit Union and Mountain America Credit Union, headquartered in Sandy, Utah, also placed within the top 10 of the “large employers” category. Idaho Central Credit Union, based in Chubbuck, Idaho, took second place under “macro employers,” continuing its run in the top three for nine years in a row.
Honorees of the Best Places to Work in Idaho are determined by their employee satisfaction and feedback. They’re chosen in each of the five size categories based on workforce size: micro (10 to 19 employees), small (20 to 49), medium (50 to 99), large (100 to 249), and macro (250 or up.)
