Two Washington Credit Unions Partner in COVID-19 Giveback Effort

On March 27, Gesa Credit Union CEO, Don Miller, and HAPO Credit Union CEO, Deloris Breskie, announced they were joining forces to provide assistance to their members and community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

After this announcement, the two teams got to work.

Throughout the month of April, Gesa and HAPO, both based in Richland, Washington, collectively gave over $20,000 in donations to organizations such as Second Harvest, Helping Hands for Seniors, and the Yakima Memorial Foundation.

Over 730 gift cards were purchased from local businesses for essential staff at organizations such as Lourdes Medical Hospital, Providence St. Mary Medical Center, and numerous local grocery stores.

In addition, both Gesa and HAPO staff members wrote over 400 letters to healthcare workers thanking them for serving our communities. In total, from this partnership over $38,000 went to deserving nonprofits and frontline workers.
