Tuesday at GAC: Troy Stang delivers Chairman’s address; Clarity CU Recognized on Mainstage for Family Planning Loan.

NWCUA President and CEO Troy Stang took to the mainstage at CUNA GAC Tuesday morning, a day after his election to serve as Chair of the CUNA Board of Directors for the next year.

Here in the Northwest, we know Troy is a credit union evangelist. Now the 5,000 advocates attending GAC know. Continuing a message he’s delivered many times here, Troy praised credit unions for being relevant as American’s best choice in financial services but said there’s more work to be done telling the stories of credit unions’ members.

“Telling the story in the way others listen and act, is what we’re after here,” he said. ‘You know the dreams they have. You are helping them fulfill their dreams.”

That’s certainly true at Nampa-based Clarity Credit Union, which helped a local couple start a family by granting them a loan for in vitro fertilization. Thousands of GAC attendees saw Clarity’s story when this video was played from the mainstage.

Wednesday, the Advocacy Army will wear out some serious shoe leather hiking the Hill to meet with virtually all Northwest Members of Congress and U.S. Senators. They have plenty of good news to share!
