January 21, 2020
1/21/2020Newly appointed President and CEO, Justin Olson will take over USAgencies Credit Union in February.
USAgencies Credit Union’s Board of Directors has appointed Justin Olson as President and CEO. Olson will take the reins next month, succeeding President and CEO, Jim Lumpkin, who has served in the leadership role for 22 years.
Olson’s credit union experience and expertise in operations and member services will be a valuable asset to USAgencies. His passion for the Credit Union Movement, employee performance, and driving membership growth will help the Portland-based credit union continue to provide exceptional service to its members.
“Our vision was to bring on someone with a strong credit union background to lead USAgencies to the next level in both membership and financial growth,” said Bill Kirchner, Chairman of the Board of Directors. “The Board took a thoughtful consideration of our members’ and employees’ expectations, and we are confident that with Olson’s strong leadership background, he will continue to help USAgencies grow in a safe and sound manner.”
Olson comes to USAgencies from Trailhead Credit Union in Portland, where he served as the Vice President of Member Services. There, he was responsible for ensuring his team delivered service to members that aligns with the credit union’s service promises and actions.
“I am excited for the opportunity to lead this wonderful credit union. Jim Lumpkin and this team have built a strong foundation and brought a lot of stability to its membership,” said Olson. “I will strive to lead with as much class and care as Jim has. USAgencies will continue to prosper, and we will continue to live out our mission — to provide solutions to improve each member’s financial life.”
Prior to working at Trailhead Credit Union, Olson was the Branch Manager at TwinStar Credit Union in Lacey, Washington, where he managed the day-to-day operations of the branch. Olson provided an environment that fostered teamwork and growth, and he developed strategies for member retention and membership growth.
“We are excited to have Olson join the USAgencies family as its new leader,” said Lumpkin. “His experience and perspective coming from a variety of credit unions over his career will bring new insight to the organization.”
