Educates Consumers on the Credit Union Difference

On Jan. 6, the Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union campaign will launch in the Northwest. As the campaign’s digital ads begin to roll out, consumers will be directed to the website,, to learn more about the Credit Union Difference and to find a credit union near them.

Open Your Eyes to a Credit Union – already launched in 14 states throughout the country – aims to raise consideration among consumers and connect them with credit unions – their best financial partner.

The website is rich with credit union information, and will replace as the Northwest’s credit union finder. Visitors may learn about credit unions’ cooperative, not-for-profit structure and the benefits associated with it – lower interest rates on loans and credit cards, higher interest on savings accounts, personalized customer service, free access to ATMs worldwide, and other important information.

Visitors may also enter their zip code, which then pulls up a list of credit unions near them. provides consumers with credit unions’ addresses, phone numbers, links to credit unions’ homepages, and a brief overview of the services the credit unions offer, such as auto, home, and business loans, mobile banking, electronic bill pay, and more.

“Thanks to the generous support of our member credit unions, the Northwest will invest approximately $1.4 million in 2020 on the campaign’s digital ad placement strategy,” said NWCUA SVP of Marketing and Communications, Danielle Sittu. “This is a significant advertising buy, so it makes sense to be consistent with the messaging appearing in the ads, and leverage the robust advertising that directs consumers to, where they will be able to dive in and learn about the Credit Union Difference,”, which previously was used by the NWCUA as a credit union finder, will be phased out at the end of this month, as the American Association of Credit Union Leagues no longer will be funding the site.
