JOIN PDX is leading with inspirational and effective programs to assist the homeless population in Portland transition into permanent housing.
The Rivermark Community Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation has aligned its mission to help make housing more sustainable, affordable, fair, and equitable within the Portland community. To make a difference in this important initiative, the foundation has awarded JOIN PDX with a $20,000 grant. The Rivermark Community Fund is a charitable endowment established by Rivermark Community Credit Union through the Oregon Community Foundation.
JOIN PDX is leading with inspirational and effective programs to assist the homeless population in Portland transition into permanent housing. In 2018, they helped 1,377 individuals transition from homelessness to permanent housing, including 161 families with children. Approximately 83% of the households JOIN helped into housing retained their housing for at least 12 months.
The Rivermark Community Fund of the Oregon Community Foundation was established in 2016 to provide grants to nonprofits in support of economic vitality. The new direction of the foundation is to support affordable housing and fighting homelessness in the communities it serves.
“We’re thrilled to partner with JOIN in support of their mission to address housing instability head-on with unique programs and affordable housing partnerships that are truly transforming people’s lives,” said Seth Schaefer, Rivermark Community Credit Union’s President and CEO.
Rivermark has previously partnered with JOIN through their Winter Warmth Drive the past two years. Beyond the grant and Warmth Drive, Rivermark is planning other events throughout 2020 to raise awareness and funds to fight homelessness.
