Credit unions gather with new WA Speaker Jinkins

Last week credit union leaders had the opportunity to gather with Washington’s newly elected Speaker of the House Laurie Jinkins in Tacoma. Speaker-designate Jinkins will be formally voted into the position when the Legislature convenes on January 13th, but was selected by her peers in July to step into the role vacated with former long-time Speaker Frank Chopp. Jinkins has been a strong supporter of credit unions and the pro-consumer cooperative movement and appreciated the opportunity to gather with representatives from TAPCO, Sound, and Harborstone, as well as Inspirus and WSECU to share more about her vision for what’s ahead.
