MAXX 2019: Understanding the Regional Economic Atmosphere to Better Serve Members
Economist Stephen Happel examines current data and what it means for credit unions.
Credit unions excel at offering personalized, member-focused products and services. And while strategizing on what to add to your credit union’s suite of services can be exciting, it can also feel daunting when examining current economic and technology trends.
Predicting what members will need as they respond to changing economic factors is key to any credit union’s success. MAXX 2019 can help credit unions make those strategic decisions through expert speakers, including economist Stephen Happel, who will appear on the main stage Oct. 16 during the session, “Knowledge is Power.”
Happel will discuss the latest Northwest economic trends and provide forecasts into where the national economy may be headed. He is a professor emeritus at Arizona State University’s W.P. Carey School of Business. In addition to his several decades of teaching and research, Happel has authored many academic texts and articles for peer-reviewed journals and newsstand outlets such as the Christian Science Monitor, Wall Street Journal, and the Cato Journal, published by the Cato Institute, an economic think tank organization.
He is a nationally recognized speaker who is often sought after to discuss the national and regional economies, how key demographic trends affect financial institutions, tax and spending proposals, and Federal Reserve policy.
We’ll welcome Happel to the main stage on Oct. 16 during the General Session, running from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Don’t miss him and other informative speakers at MAXX 2019. Register your team today and visit the MAXX page to see a full lineup.
