Idaho Legislators “Join the Fun” at Icon Credit Union’s Grand Opening in Weiser

In the Winter of 2017, during Idaho’s “snowpocalypse”, the town of Weiser was hard hit when the roof of the town’s main grocery store collapsed due to remarkable snow loads.  Since that time, a significant portion of the population traveled to nearby towns and across the border into Oregon in order to shop for their everyday needs.  Early on Tuesday, Ridley’s Supermarket opened an even larger grocery store to serve Weiser, surrounding communities and the rural areas.  More exciting news for the community came in the form of Icon Credit Union’s new branch that was also opened, within the store, making a significant impact to the financial services now available in the town of Weiser.  As the first credit union in Weiser, Icon CU has created an additional financial connection for Weiser and the surrounding areas.  Icon has continued a strong credit union characteristic within our region, which is to ensure our rural areas continue to have a financial services lifeline.

Representative Ryan Kerby (R – New Plymouth – 9) was in attendance at both the Ridley’s grand opening and the Icon Credit Union ribbon cutting.  The community’s excitement for the dual grand openings was “infectious”, as was commented by Representative Kerby, who was a longtime teacher and education administrator in the area.  Icon’s President and CEO, Connie Miller, thanked the community, her team and local leaders for the opportunity to serve Weiser and the surrounding area, while helping citizens to meet their financial needs and dreams.
