Oregon Legislature Adjourns

The Oregon Legislature adjourned Sunday evening, June 30. The final weeks were tumultuous, with Senate Republicans staging a week-long walk out over cap and trade legislation, and Governor Kate Brown ordering the State Police to bring them back to Salem. With the clock ticking on the mandatory June 30 adjournment, Republicans returned to the building and both chambers held marathon sessions over the weekend, passing nearly 40 bills in the House and 140 in the Senate

Fortunately, Oregon credit unions and your Association successfully moved priority legislation through the session earlier, passing HB 2426, an update to the Credit Union Act, and HB 2425, allowing electronic signatures on mortgage closing documents.
