Gesa Credit Union Donates Scoreboard to Eisenhower High School
Pacific NW Federal Credit Union offers tax-deductible, first-time homebuyer savings account; STCU announces new home loan officer, Tobey Garrett.
Gesa Credit Union is partnering with the Yakima School District to purchase a new scoreboard for Eisenhower High School, located in Yakima, Washington. The new scoreboard will be installed at Zaepfel Stadium and will provide enhanced viewing options such as video playback. The new sign will also provide the school district with income generation opportunities through advertising sales.
The district hopes the new scoreboard will aid in attracting other sporting events to the Yakima community, creating additional income for the city.
“We have an unwavering commitment to supporting our communities, especially in the area of education, which makes this partnership a perfect fit,” said Gesa CEO Don Miller.
Pacific NW Federal Offers New First-time Homebuyer Savings Account
Pacific NW Federal Credit Union is now offering the new tax-deductible First-time Homebuyer Savings Account for Oregonians. Qualifying Pacific NW members can grow their deposits and interest tax-free while saving for a home, with the goal of making homeownership more attainable in Oregon.
The Portland-based credit union’s program allows Oregonians to deduct up to $5,000 per year for individuals, or $10,000 per year for married couples filing jointly, from state income taxes. Those who have never purchased a home, or who haven’t owned a home in the three years prior to their planned purchase of a new home, may qualify for the savings account and tax benefits.
Account holders can use their savings for their down payment, closing costs, realtor fees, appraisal costs, loan origination fees or other costs on the settlement statement in the purchase of a single-family home in Oregon. Their home must be purchased within 10 years of opening the savings account.
“Pacific NW Federal Credit Union strives to help people strengthen their finances and take the steps to make their dreams a reality,” said Pacific NW CEO, Tom Griffith. “The dream of homeownership has been difficult to achieve for many families. This savings account will provide some tax relief to help our members save money and reach their goals.”
