Governor Little Proclaims April as Financial Literacy Month in Idaho

On Tuesday morning, Governor Brad Little signed a proclamation establishing April as Financial Literacy Month in the State of Idaho.  Governor Little and State Treasurer Julie Ellsworth also presented three $75 IDEAL College Savings scholarships to the winners of the Piggy Bank Beauty Contest, which was sponsored by the Idaho Financial Literacy Coalition (IFLC), earlier this year.  Angie Nelson, President-elect of the IFLC as well as Public Relations and Social Media Manager at Mountain America Credit Union presided over the event.  In attendance were Bureau Chiefs from the Idaho Department of Finance, Christine Stoll, Executive Director of IDEAL and members of her staff as well as other representatives from the financial services industry and staff from the Governor’s office.  The NWCUA Advocacy Team was pleased to be a part of the IFLC presentation along with several of our credit union members.
