Senate Confirms Hood, Harper for NCUA BOD, While Oregonian Rick Metsger Wraps up Service

The Senate confirmed Rodney Hood and Todd Harper Thursday to serve on the National Credit Union Board of Directors, meaning the agency will have a full-time board for the first time in three years.

Hood will replace Oregonian Rick Metsger, who continued to serve even after his term expired in August 2017. Harper fills the seat left by former Chair Debbie Matz, which has been vacant since April 2016. Metsger and Chair J. Mark McWatters have worked together as a two-person board since that time.

NCUA held its third board meeting of the year Thursday as well. The headline was that the Share Insurance Fund closed 2018 with $226 million in net income and a net position of $15.7 billion, a decline from $16.7 billion at the end of 2017. More information about the meeting can be found here.
