WA Credit Union Charter Update Bill Moves Ahead

Our priority legislation updating the Washington state credit union charter continues to move forward in both the Senate and House well ahead of legislative deadlines. Senate Bill 5479 was pulled from the Senate Rules Committee on Monday and our team was able to get it included on the consent calendar indicating support from both sides of the aisle. The companion bill, House Bill 1247, was also pulled from the Rules Committee, meaning both are now eligible for a vote by the full chamber.

Our legislative advocacy team is continuing to work with leadership in both chambers to get a vote by the full chamber. This comes as both chambers begin moving from the committee process to the floor for votes following today’s cutoff for policy and fiscal bills to be considered and approved by a committee.
