Oregon House Committee on Business and Labor Passes Two Credit Union Priority Bills

Oregon credit unions’ priority bills, developed in collaboration with the NWCUA’s member credit unions, are advancing through the legislature. Monday, the House Committee on Business and Labor passed two bills, which will next be scheduled for votes on the House floor. The bills are HB 2411, allowing financial institutions to swipe drivers’ licenses to populate account information, and HB 2425 allowing e-signatures on mortgage closing documents. The third Oregon priority bill, HB 2426, updating the Oregon Credit Union Act, passed in the House earlier this month, and is being considered in the Senate.

Against this backdrop, the advocacy army will be in Salem Wednesday for Credit Union Day at the Capitol.
