America’s Credit Union Raises Funds for Military Families

America’s Credit Union presents a check to help military families at Joint Base Lewis-McChord. The credit union raised $36,000 during its annual Turkey Shoot Golf Tournament.

Over 100 soldiers, business owners, and credit union members gathered in November at Eagles Pride Golf Course in Dupont, Washington, for America’s Credit Union 18th Annual Turkey Shoot Golf Tournament fundraiser.

The tournament raised $36,000 to benefit three community organizations serving military families on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, a U.S. military base outside of Tacoma, Washington. Donations to Santa’s Castle, The Holiday Assistance Program, and the Madigan Foundation provided service members with children’s gifts, food, and healthcare services for the holiday season.

The morale and welfare of the military and local community are a priority for America’s Credit Union, said President and CEO, Kenneth S. Leonard.

“I am honored, in our 18th year, to have raised almost half a million dollars for these great organizations,” said Leonard.

The Turkey Shoot Golf Tournament was founded in 2000 to support Santa’s Castle in its mission to provide children of military families with Christmas gifts. As the tournament grew over the years, The Holiday Assistance Program and the Madigan Foundation were added as beneficiaries of the tournament to ensure soldiers had food and low financial stress during the holidays.
