USAgencies Credit Union Shows off its Credit Union Obsession

Staff members at USAgencies Credit Union show off their #CUObsessed pride every Friday, helping to remind members of the Credit Union Difference.


There’s no shortage of pride at USAgencies Credit Union in Portland. The credit union likes to show off its #CUObsessed passion every chance it gets, and its members share their enthusiasm.

“After #CUObsessed was introduced at MAXX (2017) in Spokane, we decided to use that as our theme for 2018,” said USAgencies Credit Union President and CEO, Jim Lumpkin. “Each payday Friday the staff has a jeans day with their #CUobsessed shirts. The #CUobsessed theme fits in well with our philosophy and mission of ‘Providing solutions to improve each member’s financial life.’”

Recently USAgencies surveyed its members on a number of topics. One of the questions asked members what makes them obsessed with their credit union. Their answers were great:

  • “I am OBSESSED with USACU because we have had only professional responsive service from each and every staff member with EVERY transaction and any issue. I now measure our local credit union and all other institutions by the standards the USACU staff has set. It’s a very high bar to meet.”
  • “I’m obsessed because I receive consistent, amazing service every time I interact with anyone at USACU. You’re the best!”
  • “Obsessed with you, Desert Storm accessing my account 17k miles away, pinging off satellites. Again in Bosnia thru a two-wire field phone thru five, yes five, operators and 10 time zones. Now THAT is customer service!”
  • “My obsession with the most wonderful credit union … is because of your personal touch, your friendly, and helpful attitude, and you go out of your way to make sure the customer is number one. Thanks for many, many years of outstanding service.”

“By staying true to our seven service promises we have with our members, we feel we can achieve this mission and create the credit union obsession,” Lumpkin said. “Our goal is for all team members to live these (promises) with each interaction we have with our members – our way of getting them #CUObsessed with USAgencies! As you can see from the member responses, it seems to work!”
