MAXX Attendees Hear from WA State Political Leaders
October 23, 2018
On the opening day of MAXX 2018, Washington State Speaker of the House Frank Chopp (D-WA43) took to the main stage to share his involvement in the credit union movement. In the upcoming 2019 legislative session, he indicated we can look forward to his commitment to a “cooperative agenda to modernize the Credit Union Act.”
Earlier in the day, members of the Washington Government Affairs Committee and other MAXX attendees heard from Representative Steve Kirby (D-WA29). Rep. Kirby is chairman of the important Business and Financial Services Committee which deals with issues impacting credit unions. Rep. Kirby is a seasoned and trusted legislator that works at Harborstone CU when not working in Olympia.
Both Speaker Chopp and Chairman Kirby play a vital role in advancing legislation that is a priority to Washington state credit unions.
