Prior, who originally had the vision to bring chapters together to increase fundraising for Credit Unions for Kids five years ago, participated in the Pierce, Evergreen, and Kitsap County Chapter tournament with nearly 100 other players. “We’re also very thankful to the CO-OP Miracle Match program for their support to allow us to raise even more funds for this very worthy cause.”

Wendie Ellis, Spokane Chapter Board President, helped organize  this year’s Spokane Chapter Golf Tournament, said the fundraising event had more than 30 sponsors and 96 golfers.

“It is always so heartwarming to see the giving spirit that is part of credit unions and our vendors,” Ellis, AVP of Branch and Loan Operations with Numerica Credit Union said.

Nick Fugal, Chief Financial Officer with Clarity Credit Union, said the credit union’s 19th annual tournament was a huge success, raising thousands with other participating Idaho credit unions.

“It was the most successful tournament we have ever held,” Fugal said.

On Oct. 17, credit unions will once again gather to raise funds for Credit Unions for Kids during the Northwest Credit Union Association’s MAXX 2018 annual auction. This year’s theme is New York, New York, so attendees are encouraged to get glitzy and have fun while they raise money for eight CMN Hospitals.

Credit Unions for Kids is a nonprofit collaboration of credit unions, chapters, leagues/associations, and business partners from across the United States engaged in fundraising for 170 Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
