Numerica CU’s Wendie Ellis Awarded Professional of the Year at Recent CUNA Conference in San Francisco

Wendie Ellis, AVP of Branch and Loan Operations with Numerica Credit Union, recently won the Professional of the Year award during CUNA’s conference in San Francisco earlier this month.

Wendie Ellis, AVP of Branch and Loan Operations with Spokane’s Numerica Credit Union, was awarded Professional of the Year at CUNA’s recent Technology and Operations and Member Experience Council Conference earlier this month.

The Professional of the Year award recognizes a credit union professional who exemplifies excellence in all aspects of operations and member experience.

“I am immensely honored and humbled by this award,” Ellis said. “Every day I am blessed to work in this amazing credit union industry, as we all are, and at Numerica CU. I am thankful for their support and belief in me and my teams.”

Both the CUNA Technology Council and the CUNA Operations & Member Experience Council presented awards during the conference, held Sept. 12-15 in San Francisco.

Oregon Community Credit Union, located in Eugene, was also recognized with two awards. The credit union received an Excellence in Technology award for its CIO Dashboard – a platform that provides quick summaries of finances, operations, and projects. OCCU also received an Excellence in Operations & Member Experience award in the Branch Design category for its Wilsonville Service Center.

The Wilsonville facility, opened in August of 2017, was designed to be visually appealing to prospective and current members, while maximizing the flexible use of the 1,971-square-foot space and ensuring member privacy.

“I am proud of this outstanding national recognition. Winning two awards in the same year illustrates that OCCU is better serving its membership in ways that demonstrate innovation and leadership,” said OCCU President and CEO, Ron Neumann.

The Excellence in Technology Awards recognize credit unions and their technology staff members who have shown outstanding commitment and innovation in their field.

“Operations and member experience professionals hold a wide variety of vital responsibilities,” said Bill Thomas, CUNA Operations & Member Experience Council Awards chair. “With the CUNA Operations & Member Experience Awards, we aim to recognize the best and brightest, proving to them and their peers that dedication, passion, and innovation can lead to incredible results.”

The CUNA Operations & Member Experience Council also announced its 2018-2019 Council Executive Committee at the conference. STCU’s Tammy Fleiger, VP of Operations, will be joining the board, as will Jason Rogers, SVP of Member Services at Mountain America Credit Union, which is based in Utah, but has several locations in Idaho.
