Credit Union Movement Focuses on Get Out The Vote Campaign to Encourage Members to the Polls

November elections are fast approaching, and credit unions and their members can have a strong voice at the ballot box.

To encourage credit union employees and their members to vote, the Credit Union National Association has launched its Member Activation Program (MAP) Get Out The Vote Campaign – a website that can help voters verify their registration, locate their polling places, and cast their votes early, if applicable.

The General Election is Nov. 6, and it’s a great opportunity to elect officials who support the Credit Union Movement. Voters also have a chance to elect a strong credit union advocate this fall — Larry Hoff — who is running for Washington state’s 18th Legislative District. Hoff is the former CEO and President of Fibre Federal Credit Union.

“We support CUNA’s efforts with the Get Out The Vote Campaign and encourage our member credit unions to participate through their social media or by participating in the MAP campaign,” said AVP of Advocacy, Samantha Beeler. “We have a strong, unified voice that will only be made stronger at the polls next month.”

Your Association supports this bi-partisan awareness campaign and encourages you to be active on social media. We have made it easy so that credit unions can simply retweet anything from @CUGetOutTheVote. Be sure to use hashtags like #CreditUnions, #Advocacy, #GOTV, and #GetOutTheVote when tweeting.

Your Association also has fun buttons, stickers, and signs that credit unions can share with their members. If your credit union would like to receive these, email Grassroots Advocacy Manager Gretchan Blum.
