Credit Union Advocates Gather in Tri-Cities to Support a Credit Union Champion

Over the August Congressional recess last month, credit union leaders and advocates joined hosts, Don Miller and Jerry Sims of Gesa Credit Union, at an event in the Tri-Cities for Congressman Dan Newhouse (R-WA4). Not surprisingly, credit unions showed up big—both in number of attendees and dollars raised—for the Congressman, who is running for re-election in the 4th Congressional District for a third term.

Since the beginning of his service in the House of Representatives, Congressman Newhouse has been a true credit union friend and most recently voted to support S.2155. Not to mention, he has been a member of a credit union for over 23 years and understands the credit union difference. During the event, he remarked that he was humbled by the presence of all the credit unions in the room, who he views as leaders in the community.

We applaud the advocacy engagement shown by credit unions in the 4th Congressional District and appreciate their efforts. A special thank you goes to the event hosts, Don Miller and Jerry Sims!
