Portland-Metro Credit Union Career Fair Sept. 7

Credit unions in the Northwest are hiring. On Sept. 7, several credit unions will host the Portland-Metro Credit Union Career Fair in downtown Portland.

RSVPs to the free event are due by Aug. 31. Those with financial services experience are encouraged to attend, as well as those without who are interested in entering the profession.

The fair runs from 11 a.m. to 2 pm. at 1300 Unitus Plaza, SW Sixth Ave, Portland. Food will be available from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Click here to register. For additional information, including parking recommendations, visit Unitus Community Credit Union’s website.

Credit unions participating include Unitus, Point West, Advantis, Clackamas, First Tech Federal, iQ, Trailhead, Rivermark, and SELCO. Attendees are encouraged to bring business cards, resumes, and cover letters.

Credit unions are cooperative financial institutions focused solely on its members. Credit unions provide the same services as most banks — checking accounts, ATMs, mobile banking, lending and savings accounts. Banks are profit-driven, however, and all profits are paid out to shareholders. Credit unions are member-driven, and earnings are passed onto members.
