Your Association’s experts preview regulatory, diversity, legal, and tech sessions.
Breakout Sessions – part of MAXX every year – provide valuable information that professionals can take back to their credit unions and implement. This year’s MAXX 2018, in Tacoma, Wash., will offer attendees the opportunity to network and learn about the latest trends in the financial services industry.
We caught up with the experts at NWCUA to find out more about the sessions you won’t want to miss:
What will tomorrow’s credit unions look like? In The Power of Diversity & Inclusion session, you’ll learn about setting the stage for a more diverse work environment.
“We will hear from a series of speakers on tangible next steps that your credit union can take toward building and maintaining a diverse and inclusive representation of your current and future members,” said NWCUA Director of Cooperative Momentum, Carmen Vigil. “We are so excited about the content of this year’s breakout sessions as there is truly something for everyone.”
Staying current on the ever-evolving regulatory landscape. At the Critical Information from Your Regulators session, you’ll hear about the ever-changing regulatory landscape and examine the latest trends.
“Attendees will get the latest information on new regulations that will allow credit unions to be more competitive, including the latest development on new state Member Business Loan rules,” said NWCUA AVP, Regulatory Advocacy, John Trull. “In addition, they will get the latest information on exam trends and learn what regulators are seeing across the Northwest that will help credit unions plan for future exams and better prepare for changing conditions.” Plus, participants will have the opportunity to engage with regulators directly in an open forum.
Which new banking app or capability will your credit union members want most? Find new options at the betaSpace Bonanza session, which will bring high-tech value to your credit union.
“The betaSpace Bonanza is an opportunity for a sneak peek into the finance industry’s latest emerging technology. You’ll learn about conversational banking, video banking, the latest in texting solutions, and more,” said NWCUA Vice President Strategic Resources, Jason Smith.
Learn about the current legal issues affecting the Credit Union Movement and the potential impact to your organization at the Legal Update.
“The demand letters for website ADA non-compliance continue to target credit unions throughout the country. Attendees will learn about the latest developments for this ongoing issue,” said NWCUA Director of Compliance Services, David Curtis. “In addition, S. 2155 provides for welcomed regulatory relief for credit unions, and this session will help participants learn more about the changes it will make and when.”
