Another successful CULAC month in the books

Credit unions around the Northwest put their CU obsession on display when they ramped up their fundraising efforts for the Credit Union Legislative Action Council (CULAC) this past month. Participation in July CULAC month was in full force, with credit unions launching fun and innovative campaigns to support credit union advocacy. In Washington, Peninsula Credit Union rolled out Friday Fundays for CULAC where every Friday of the month employees could choose to participate in the initiative of the day, such as bring your pet to work or a car wash. Employees had so much fun during Friday Fundays that they outraised their goal!

At Oregon State CU they decided one month to focus on CULAC was not enough and held a two month long drive that started at the end of May. They provided employees a variety of ways to contribute to CULAC, including a raffle for an all expense trip to Washington, DC to attend the 2019 CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference and summer causal dress packages. Not only that but Oregon State CU plans to match every dollar donated to CULAC towards Credit Unions4Kids/Children’s Miracle Network!

Ever hear the word, “Co-Opertition”? Well in Idaho, the young professionals of CLIMB Idaho challenged credit unions throughout the state to a Co-Opertition for CULAC, which combines beneficial cooperation with friendly competition. They have asked young professionals at credit unions to coordinate with CLIMB Idaho to execute a CULAC campaign at their credit union. The Co-Opertition is continuing through August! Your Association even took part in CULAC month and exceeded its fundraising goal of $1000 to raise $2040!

The credit union movement and voice is stronger than ever thanks to northwest credit unions’ monumental CULAC efforts. Congratulations!
