Credit Union Leaders Meet with Eastern Washington Legislative Candidates
Candidates had the opportunity to learn more about the Credit Union Movement.
Credit union leaders throughout Eastern Washington had the opportunity to meet candidates running in local legislative district races July 18 in Spokane, Wash., giving them the opportunity to learn about the candidates and determine which ones to support during the election.
The Eastern Washington Candidate Forum included a full day of interviews with 13 candidates and included healthy, in-depth discussions with the candidates to understand their level of credit union support, to educate them on the Credit Union Difference, and to share the credit unions’ community impact stories.
“The forum was an excellent opportunity to interview candidates seeking our support to represent districts in Eastern Washington,” said Jeff Adams, President and CEO of Horizon Credit Union. “It was valuable in understanding the depth of their awareness of credit unions, gauging the level of each candidates commitment, and a great time to share more about the value that our industry creates in their district.”
Credit union leaders from Global, STCU, Solarity, Spokane Media Federal, BECU, Numerica, and Horizon credit unions met with 13 candidates for Washington’s legislative district 3, districts 6 through 9, and district 13.
The 2018 Washington state election cycle includes 123 races in 49 legislative districts. More candidate forums are planned in the upcoming months in Washington. Look for more information on near-future forums this summer and early fall.
