New York, New York Gala Auction Theme Announced for NWCUA’s Annual Credit Unions for Kids Fundraiser

NWCUA’s 2017 Run for the Roses Gala Auction raised $325,000 for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals in the Northwest.

Start spreading the news: The Northwest Credit Union Association’s (NWCUA) annual Credit Unions for Kids auction is October 17 during the MAXX Convention, and you’ll want to be a part of it.

Professionals from 11 Northwest credit unions have stepped up to participate on the volunteer committee that will create the design, help to collect auction donations, and work the evening of the auction. The committee has already selected, “New York, New York” as the theme.

Committee members include:

  • Chantelle Castle, United Advantage NW FCU;
  • Amy Ellis, Simplot Employees CU;
  • Jackie Henderson, Rivermark Community CU;
  • Alexandria Johnson, Sound CU;
  • Trudi Mayes, CapEd CU;
  • Jenifer Piper, Numerica CU;
  • David Sanders, Rogue CU;
  • Jeremy Sankwich, TAPCO CU;
  • Michelle Stanfield, Consolidated Community CU;
  • Don Stewart, First Tech FCU;
  • Troy VanRiper, First Tech FCU; and
  • Matthew Wilson, Oregon Community CU

The New York, New York Gala Auction will benefit eight Children’s Miracle Network (CMN) hospitals in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, and another in Utah.

“The collective action of the entire Credit Union Movement makes this event successful year after year,” said Holly Miller, NWCUA Project Manager. “From the volunteers, to the credit unions, business partners, and individuals who make generous donations, to the attendees whose bidding reaches new highs every year, it all results in a win for the kids.”

Since its founding in the Northwest in 1986, and its adoption as credit unions’ national “charity of choice” in 1996, Credit Unions for Kids has raised over $160 million for 170 CMN hospitals across the nation. Money raised in any region stays with the local hospital, and money raised at the New York, New York Gala Auction can be earmarked to benefit the CMN hospital of the donors’ or winning bidders’ choice.

The auction’s webpage is open for donations, sponsorships, and registrations.
