House Passes Omnibus Spending Bill with Credit Union Priorities

Today, House lawmakers have passed a spending bill for Fiscal Year 2018 in an effort to avoid another government shutdown. The bill, passed in a 256-167 vote, will now be sent to the Senate, where they have until midnight to act. The omnibus package aims to fund the government through Sept. 30, the end of the fiscal year.

The bill includes many credit union priorities, including:

  • Keeping the NCUA out of the appropriations process
  • Funding for the CDRLF and CDFI
  • Maintains and expands loan limits in the SBA
  • Provides $12 Million for Cooperative Development Program
