CO-OP Miracle Match Application Period Now Open


If your credit union is planning an event to raise money for local Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals this year, the CO-OP Miracle Match program offers a way to maximize the impact of your fundraising work. Through the program, CO-OP Financial Services generously matches up to 100 percent of funds raised at your Credit Unions for Kids benefit, up to a maximum of $10,000. The program’s 2018 application period is open now through Sept. 30.

“Credit unions can double the success of their Credit Unions for Kids fundraising efforts by applying for a match from CO-OP,” said Carmen Vigil, NWCUA’s Director, Cooperative Momentum. “It’s another great way for Northwest credit unions to strengthen their legacy of support for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.”

In the 10 years since the CO-OP Miracle Match program’s inception, $10 million in CO-OP contributions has helped deliver almost $20 million in funds to children’s hospitals, transforming the lives of the kids and families these institutions serve.

Idaho-based Westmark Credit Union is one example of the impact CO-OP’s match has made. The credit union began hosting an annual Credit Unions for Kids Golf Tournament in 2003. In both 2012 and 2013, Westmark CU received $10,000 in matching funds from Miracle Match. In 2017, they contacted Vigil to get information regarding the possibility of future support from Miracle Match.

“Carmen was so helpful in guiding us through the application process, and we were thrilled to be approved for a $5,000 Miracle Match in 2017,” said Kathy Jo Davis, Executive Assistant at Westmark Credit Union.

“Over the years, our golf tournament has raised over $336,000 for Children’s Miracle Network. We are so appreciative of Miracle Match and the local credit unions and businesses who continue to support our fundraising efforts year after year. We couldn’t do it without the support of our credit union community!” Davis said.

Miracle Match is open to all credit unions, chapters, and leagues in the United States. Since program funds are limited, application approval and the match amount will be distributed according to the credit union’s membership and business relationship with CO-OP. Events must raise funds for a member Children’s Miracle Network Hospital and be conducted under the Credit Union for Kids brand. Click here to learn more, and to submit an application.
