Volunteer to Help Northwest Credit Unions Support Lifesaving Care at Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals

“Miracle Child” Nate Powers’ family shared his story at the 2017 Credit Unions for Kids auction.

Thanks to the help of committed volunteers, the Run for the Roses auction during your Association’s 2017 MAXX Convention raised $325,000 — a record amount for the auction — to benefit Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals throughout Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. We’re once again calling for volunteers from Northwest credit unions to help us make the 2018 auction the most successful yet.

Credit Unions for Kids is the national Credit Union Movement’s “Charity of Choice,” but it was born in the Northwest in 1986. Credit unions will once again honor this legacy during NWCUA’s MAXX Convention Oct. 16-18, 2018, by raising their paddles high to help children get the lifesaving medical care they need.

“The auction is a great opportunity to augment the efforts of our Northwest credit unions in support of Credit Unions for Kids,” said Holly Miller, NWCUA’s Project Manager for the 2018 auction. “It’s the true embodiment of credit unions’ philosophy of collective action.”

The following video illustrates Northwest credit unions’ generosity, and the impact you make through this event each year.

Help Bring the Auction to Life in 2018

The first volunteer meeting will be held next Tuesday, Feb. 20, at 1 p.m. (PT), 2 p.m. (MT), via conference call. Please contact Miller at hmiller@nwcua.org, or 503-350-2220, for more information and to RSVP to attend.

We look forward to another year of partnering with our credit union volunteers, who help us make this evening of miracles possible.

“It’s hard to say which part of the evening is more touching — the generosity of our credit unions, the enthusiasm of the attendees, or the wonderful stories of survival made possible by our region’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals,” Miller said.

If you have questions about the auction or are interested in serving on the volunteer committee this year, please reach out to Holly Miller at hmiller@nwcua.org, or 503-350-2220.
