Columbia Credit Union Welcomes Five New Leaders

In an effort to offer more robust services to members and businesses, Columbia Credit Union has welcomed five new leaders to VP roles in recent months.

The credit union promoted Ron Bertolucci to Vice President of Retail Lending. He began working at Columbia Credit Union in March 2014 as Vice President Manager of Business Lending before this promotion. Prior to working at Columbia Credit Union, Bertolucci served as a Vice President and Commercial Banker for Sterling Savings Bank. In his new position, he will lead production efforts in all direct lending categories.

For its Vice President of Commercial Lending role, the credit union appointed Joe Storm. Storm has more than 25 years of experience in the banking industry. He will lead a team dedicated to addressing the growing needs of businesses located throughout Columbia’s footprint. Storm’s commercial team offers a full suite of commercial banking services, including working capital financing and term loans as well as payables and receivables management. He is also responsible for creating and leading a treasury management group that will provide member businesses with a full array of financial services.

The credit union is also pleased to announce Samantha Sandford as Vice President, Commercial Loan Officer. In this role, Samantha will develop and manage business lending and deposit relationships. Sandford has more than 18 years of experience in the financial services industry. Most recently she was Vice President, Commercial Relationship Manager with Umpqua Bank.

Columbia appointed Paula Ford as its new Vice President of Treasury Services. In this position, she will manage complex business deposit accounts and treasury management solutions. Her 28 years’ experience in the banking industry will serve her well in this new role. Before working at Columbia Credit Union, she served as a Vice President and consultant for Umpqua Bank’s Treasury Management Services.

Beau Plotner became the credit union’s new Vice President of Home Lending. In this position, Plotner will lead the sales, service, and business development activities of Columbia Credit Union’s home loans team to fulfill financing needs of local homeowners and buyers. Old West FCU Veteran, Lanni Strong, Retires After 3 Decades With the Credit Union

Lanni Strong

Lanni Strong, an employee of Oregon-based Old West Federal Credit Union, is retiring after 31 years with the credit union. Strong has fulfilled roles in consumer lending as well as various supervisory roles, and currently serves as Operations Supervisor for the credit union’s John Day branch.

“Lanni joined the credit union in 1986, and quickly caught on to the credit union difference,” said Cindy Streeter, HR Manager for the credit union. “Lanni has been a focal point for teaching new employees what it means to be a credit union and member advocate and ambassador for the Credit Union Movement through her active volunteerism in her local community.

“Just like her demeanor, Lanni’s retirement plans are modest and sincere: spending time with family, some travel, and perfecting her quilting skills.”
