Celebrate Giving Tuesday With a Donation to Your Northwest Credit Union Foundation
Your contribution can help improve the financial lives of people and communities across our region.
Today, your Northwest Credit Union Foundation is participating in Giving Tuesday. On this global day of giving, the Foundation is proud to recognize the impact donors have on its programs. Thanks to the generosity of Northwest credit unions, people in our region’s communities are changing their financial lives for the better.
Last month’s NWCUF Donor Appreciation Breakfast is a prime example of the lasting, positive impact donors make by coming together as a credit union family. There, attendees prepared move-in kits for Crosswalk, an organization dedicated to breaking the cycle of youth homelessness. These kits already have helped seven young people feel at home as they transitioned from homelessness into their own apartments.
Donors’ generous contributions to NWCUF also have had a huge impact on low-income students across our region through the Matched Education Savings Account (MESA) program. In partnership with credit unions in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington, this program helps students avoid student debt while building a habit of savings. Through MESA, when a student saves $500 for college expenses, the amount he or she saves is matched 3:1.
The following video highlights the story of two MESA program students — Amber and Cynthia — who have been impacted by Foundation donors’ generosity:
