MAXX Trade ShowAfter the opening session’s series of inspiring speakers, the theme attendees continued to encounter throughout MAXX was the need to push themselves to envision and embrace new possibilities for the future. Speakers continued to deliver insights about the global, regional, and local trends impacting and propelling our industry.

To open Tuesday morning’s general session, global futurist and innovation strategist Anders Sorman-Nilsson helped attendees decode current digital trends and turn provocative questions into proactive strategies. He highlighted how to embrace the best of the “old school” and the “new school,” and how the worlds of the digital and analog can complement each other to advance your organization.

Tuesday afternoon’s keynote session explored how Northwest states are leading the nation’s next economic revolution. Three thought leaders explored the potential for Washington to own the “drone economy,” Idaho’s growth as a home for innovation, and the influence Oregon’s farming community has on food — regionally and worldwide. This gave credit unions perspective on new possibilities to help their members and communities thrive in these evolving economies.

MAXX also gave credit unions the opportunity to explore Strategic Link’s largest-ever Trade Show, where more than 115 business partners showcased their technology, talent, payment systems, security platforms, and member engagement solutions.

To close the conference, NCUA board member Rick Metsger spoke to Northwest credit unions’ exemplary service to members in a rapidly changing marketplace. Entrepreneur and international speaker Jen Groover then invited attendees to adopt new insights and tools to lead their lives and organizations with increased authenticity.
