Columbia Credit Union Honored With 2017 Award for Workplace Excellence

Columbia Credit Union’s 2017 Employee Opinion Survey earned a 2017 Award for Workplace Excellence from Peter Barron Stark Companies. This honor is awarded to exceptional organizations committed to a culture of workplace excellence. The award is only granted to organizations that achieve an overall favorable response exceeding 80 percent on their Employee Opinion Survey.

The credit union’s participation in the survey was high — 237 out of 271 of employees completed the survey — and it earned a high score of 90.8 percent.

In addition to the 2017 Award for Workplace Excellence, Columbia Credit Union was recognized among the top-rated businesses nationally. Their overall survey score of 90.8 percent exceeds the 82.7 percent “Best of the Best” average of all businesses that took the Peter Barron Stark Employee Opinion Survey.

“It’s no secret that Columbia Credit Union is a great place to work,” said Columbia Credit Union President and CEO Steve Kenny. “Our employees have high levels of job satisfaction and it shows in their performance and dedication to providing outstanding service to our members. The areas where we really shined in the Employee Opinion Survey are management, commitment to quality and service, cooperation and teamwork, motivation, and compensation and benefits.”

OnPoint Community Credit Union Welcomes Liz Enomoto Martin as Director of Marketing

OnPoint Community Credit Union has named Liz Enomoto Martin its Director of Marketing.

“With her focus on the needs and experiences of OnPoint members, Liz is a welcome addition to our management team,” said OnPoint President and CEO Rob Stuart. “Her integrated marketing and communications expertise makes her the right person to guide the evolution of our brand and lead all aspects of Marketing.”

A veteran of the tech industry, Martin has more than 16 years of professional experience in public relations and marketing. She most recently served as director of marketing and communications at Janrain, focusing on brand awareness, content strategy, and influencer communications.

“It is an honor to join an organization that so clearly values its members, employees and community,” said Martin. “I am eager to build on our presence as a financial services leader by showcasing how we can help our members with their financial goals while growing our communities.”

STCU Names Business Banking Manager and Announces Branch Promotions

With demand increasing for business services and commercial lending, STCU has hired Jeff Stone as business banking manager.

STCU’s commercial lending portfolio grew 20 percent in 2016, to a record $301 million. That pace has continued in 2017, with similar growth in the number of business members.

Stone comes to STCU with more than 25 years of banking experience, most recently as senior relationship manager and leader for business banking at US Bank in Spokane. A graduate of Mead High School, he holds a bachelor’s degree in business management from Eastern Washington University.

The credit union also announced four other staff promotions at their branches:

  • Amy Butler has been promoted from assistant branch manager at the Valley Branch to manager of the Crossroads Branch in Coeur d’Alene.
  • Janell Pavlica was promoted to manager of the Indian Trail Branch.
  • Tanya Yost has been promoted from assistant manager to manager at the Silver Lake Branch in Dalton Gardens, Idaho.
  • Brandy Stern was promoted to manager of the STCU U-District Branch.
