Raise a Glass to Support Credit Unions for Kids

8/22/17

What pairs best with a cabernet? How about a great cause? Join Northwest credit union professionals in raising a glass to support Children’s Miracle Network hospitals at two exceptional winetasting events this September.

“The Ninety” Serves Up Fine Washington Wine to Support Credit Unions for Kids

On Sept. 15, the Children’s Miracle Network and Credit Unions for Kids will team up to offer one of the most unique winetasting events in the region. Credit unions involved in organizing the event include Spokane Federal, Global, Horizon, STCU, and Numerica.

Aptly called “The Ninety,” the event will only feature Washington wines with a 90+ rating, along with fabulous food pairings. Attendees will also enjoy a live and silent auction for items including library wines, verticals, barrel tastings, and gourmet dinners.

The event will run from 6-10 p.m. at Arbor Crest Wine Cellars in Spokane, Washington. All proceeds benefit Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital.

Unitus Community Credit Union’s Wine on the Willamette Celebrates 10 Years

This year will mark the tenth anniversary of Unitus Community Credit Union’s river-cruise fundraiser benefitting Credit Unions for Kids. As attendees float along the river aboard the Willamette Star the evening of Sept. 15, they will be treated to wine, food pairings, and live music by Portland-based pianist, John Nilsen.

Proceeds from the event support the Credit Unions for Kids Endowed Fund for Pediatric Cancer Clinical Trial Research at OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital, and the building of the Gary & Christine Rood Family Pavilion, a new guest home for out-of-town patients.

The evening will begin with a champagne reception and hors d’oeuvres before guests settle in for the two-hour scenic cruise from 7 to 9 p.m. Guests also are invited to attend an after-hours reception at the Three Degrees restaurant at RiverPlace Hotel.

Tickets are available here. Those who are unable to attend but would still like to support the event can sponsor a Credit Unions for Kids affiliated doctor through the credit union’s “sponsor-a-doc” program. With a donation of $500, this program allows a doctor and his or her guest to attend by covering the cost of their tickets.
