Marketing, Business Development & Community Outreach Council Meeting: Sept. 21

This September’s meeting will kick off with a roundtable on how to communicate the safety and security of your credit union to your team, your members, and your community. We’ll share best practices and information about available resources, then open the floor to hear your ideas.

After the roundtable, we will dive into a conversation about messaging the credit union difference. Research has shown us the reasons consumers like credit unions, and the barriers they perceive to membership. We’ll review where the national research project stands, share messaging resources, and look at examples of CU Difference messaging that also allow credit unions to promote their individual brands, identities, impact, and products.

In addition, Steven Houle, Catalyst Corporate Federal Credit Union’s vice president, advisory services, will present an overview of recent economic changes. These insights will help credit unions plan for the future, with a focus on trends in employment, housing, consumer spending, demands for credit, and impact on loan rates and earnings.
