Participate in Idaho Gives Day and Washington’s GiveBIG Day

This month, both Idaho and Washington let their generous spirits shine on their dedicated days of philanthropy: May 4 in Idaho, and May 10 in Washington. On these days devoted to giving, we invite you to consider supporting the Northwest Credit Union Foundation’s Matched Education Savings Account (MESA) program by becoming a Friend of the Foundation. A donation of $20 or more will help low-income students in the Northwest build financial skills and succeed in college.

Why is Your Donation so Critical?

Student debt is set to surpass more than $1.2 trillion in the U.S., and is fast becoming a national crisis.

The true impact of this crisis is most felt among the families and students struggling to find a way to pay for college. That’s where MESA comes in. Through MESA, when a student saves up to $500, the amount they save will be matched 3:1 by the Northwest Credit Union Foundation.

MESA can help bridge the funding gap. With the help of Northwest credit unions, the MESA program can help turn $500 a student saves into $2,000 for books or tuition.

How to Help

Join us in championing this valuable work by becoming a Friend of the Foundation. If you live in Idaho, you can support MESA by donating on IdahoGives Day, on May 4.  If you live in Washington, consider donating on GiveBIG Day, May 10. If you live in Oregon, you can back this program by visiting NWCUF’s giving page and becoming a Friend of the Foundation today.
