Idaho Regulator Mary Hughes Reappointed to FFIEC State Liaison Committee
April 17, 2017
Acting Director of the Idaho Department of Finance (IDF) Mary Hughes has been appointed to serve a second two-year term on the Federal Financial Institutions Examination Council (FFIEC) State Liaison Committee.
The FFIEC was created by federal regulation in 1978 to set standards for federal examinations of financial institutions.
Hughes is the only Northwest regulator serving on FFIEC’s State Liaison Committee. She was first appointed to fill a vacant term in early 2015, was appointed to a full term later that year, and will now serve another term until March 2019.
Hughes joined the IDF in 1990 as a deputy attorney general, and has since served as the department’s lead attorney, Consumer Finance Bureau chief, and Financial Institutions Bureau chief. Hughes has served as an officer and director of NASCUS and the American Association of Residential Mortgage Regulators and as an officer of the Business and Corporate Law Section of the Idaho State Bar. She remains an active member of the Idaho State Bar.
