CO-OP Miracle Match is Found Money for Credit Unions for Kids

The 2017 CO-OP Miracle Match is now available online. Miracle Match is open to all credit unions, Chapters, and leagues raising funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals under the Credit Unions for Kids brand.

“It would be wonderful if every credit union in the Northwest leverages this fundraising tool during the coming year,” said Carmen Vigil, Community Manager for the Northwest Credit Union Association. “Under this program, CO-OP Financial Services generously matches up to 100 percent of the funds raised up to $10,000.”

Credit unions and Chapters should submit their applications for matches before their events, as pre-approval is required, Vigil noted. There is also a post-event report required.

Examples of successful Miracle Match applications by Northwest credit unions and chapters recently include:

  • Peninsula Credit Union, leveraging staff “dress-down” days, business partner relationships, and the CO-OP Miracle Match to significantly boost the amount donated to Credit Unions for Kids;
  • A partnership between the Kistap County and Pierce County Chapters holding a successful golf tournament and receiving a CO-OP Miracle Match; and
  • Sound Credit Union’s internal auction featuring both employee and business partner donations.“Auction day itself is full of friendly competition since all employees can bid through our intranet,” said Alexandria Johnson, Sound CU’s Community Relations Officer. “It’s amazing to see everyone embrace Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and how we’ve been able to double the impact with the CO-OP Miracle Match program.”
