NW Preferred FCU Expands to Serve Insurance Professionals, Agencies Nationwide

NW Preferred Federal Credit Union has a rich, proud history serving the insurance industry. Known as a financial institution “designed by agents for agents,” the credit union was originally chartered in 1940, and in 2003, became the first in the U.S. to obtain a Trade, Industry, or Profession (TIP) charter.

With this week’s announcement that the NCUA has approved a nationwide TIP charter, NW Preferred will expand its reach significantly beyond its original three-state Idaho, Oregon, and Washington charter boundary.

“This move offers us tremendous growth potential,” noted Steve Canfield, President & CEO. “But the opportunity didn’t just occur by chance. It is thanks to our continued financial success, the vision and hard work of staff, management, and our Board of Directors, as well as the continued loyalty and support of our credit union members.”
