Big Update on CU Legislation Call to Action – Please Act Now

The 2017 Washington Credit Union Legislative Agenda is well underway in Olympia this year, and your Association has made huge strides in advancing these priorities. Now, it’s time to lend your voice and let legislators know that Washington State credit unions are standing with our communities to advocate for unlimited public funds.

Update

Over the weekend we learned that one of our key credit union bills will be up for a floor vote during our upcoming Credit Union Day at the Capitol. We need a big final advocacy push to ensure its passage. Because of this, we are asking for at least 50 more folks to join in our CU Day efforts. Bring a branch manager, Board Members, credit union members, or a friend!

We plan to fill the gallery as legislators cast this important vote. We also need our presence to feel larger than ever before as we thank key members of the state House and Senate who have helped us along the way.

IF YOU ARE UNABLE TO ATTEND IN PERSON, WE NEED YOU, WASHINGTON CREDIT UNION ADVOCATES, TO CALL YOUR SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES AND ASK FOR THEIR SUPPORT OF THE 2017 MUNICIPAL ACCESS TO LOCAL FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS BILL, SHB 1209 / SB 5396. WE NEED EACH SENATOR AND REPRESENTATIVE TO RECEIVE AT LEAST 100 CONTACTS IN THE NEXT TWO DAYS.

Please view Substitute House Bill 1209 and Senate Bill 5396 for more information on each bill.
