NW Priority CU Rings in Holiday Season With Bike and Toy Drive

A whole gaggle of toys and bikes were raised for Southeast Portland foster children and OHSU Doernbecher Children’s Hospital this holiday season, for an event coordinated by Portland’s NW Priority Credit Union.

The credit union’s auto broker, Auto Solution, helped to collect 20 new bicycles and CUNA Mutual Group donated seven directly to the annual bike and toy drive.

Since October, for every vehicle purchased through Auto Solution and financed with NWPCU, a child’s bicycle was donated in the credit union member’s name. Auto Solution split these donations with the credit union, while also sending over an extra $400 in toys.

Eight enormous bags of gifts were delivered in the snow to Doernbecher, described as a “humbling and magical experience” in the announcement. Arriving with all of those soon-to-be presents and watching the children’s eyes light up makes for a very happy conclusion to 2016’s toy drive.

A special “thank you” was included to NWPCU’s wonderful members, CUMIS, Helen Alexander (CUNA Financial Advisor), and Auto Solution for their generous contributions and for making this year’s drive a bit more special.
