Kitsap Chapter Works Holiday Magic, Fills 175 Stockings for Homeless Youth

Members of the Kitsap County Chapter of Credit Unions donned their elf hats and worked some holiday magic recently, filling 175 stockings for homeless, street-oriented youth served by nonprofit Coffee Oasis.

With socks, gloves, scarves, hats and personal care hygiene products, each stocking was stuffed with love and topped with hand warmers, chocolates, and a candy cane, too.

The charity was delighted and pleasantly surprised by the timing of this donation, as they had just learned a group that had provided a similar donation for the past three years, would not be able to do so and they worried no one would step up to fill this critical need.

Peninsula Federal Credit Union, Kitsap Credit Union, and Connection Credit Union branches throughout Kitsap County collected the items in November.
