New Association Board Chair Makes Call for Committee Service

Incoming Board Chair Brooke Van Vleet (St. Helens Community CU) addresses the Closing Session following the Board re-organization earlier that day.

Committees of the Northwest Credit Union Association play an important role in the governance, direction, and policy formation for Your Association. They help to drive policy advancement as we collaborate to improve the operating environment for credit unions.

And during her address to attendees after taking the gavel from Global Credit Union’s Jack Fallis, incoming Board Chair Brooke Van Vleet wasted no time in imploring members to engage in the committee structure.

“Your involvement on the committees of NWCUA can help assure future success and advancement of the regional movement,” she said.

The full list of committees and their current charge can be viewed here. While making a pitch for 2017 appointments, Van Vleet also stressed the importance of 2016 committee members to continue serving in their respective committees until calendar year end 2016.

Those interested in serving in 2017 can learn more by following this link. Recommendations or self-nominations must be received by November 10 for consideration.

The full roster of 2017 Committee Appointments will be announced to the membership before year-end.
