Foundation: Registration for 2017 DE Training Now Open

CUDE graduates in Madison earlier this year.

The Credit Union Development Educator (CUDE) designation is more than an acronym following a credit union professional’s name and title. It is a set of ideals that ground them in the work they do to embody the principles of the Credit Union Movement.

Registration for the DE program is now open for various 2017 dates. The Northwest Credit Union Foundation also offers a scholarship program to those looking to participate, with details available at http://nwcufscholarships.org/scholarship-guidelines/.

Graduates of the program acquire skills in credit union outreach initiatives, problem solving, technical assistance, team building, and public presentations. The network of graduates is 16,000-strong across the U.S. and internationally.

Previous graduates have reflected fondly on their time in the program. After attending the DE training earlier this year, Cindy Beauregard, CEO of Heart of LA FCU in Pineville, La., said, “DE Training helps you bridge the gap between who you are and who you dream of being.”

The announcement noted that the Foundation is again holding four classes due to popular demand, and there is currently a waiting/notification list of more than 350 credit union professionals.

The four classes will be held on the following dates:

  • April 26 – May 3, 2017 – Madison, WI
  • May 31 – June 7, 2017 – Madison, WI
  • September 13 – 20, 2017 – Madison, WI
  • November 1-8, 2017 – Madison, WI
